"Z" is for Zoo (Part 2)
Zoos are as old as civilization itself. Even the ancient Egyptians and Romans had zoos for entertainment. But as I mentioned in Part 1 of "Z" is for Zoo, zoos are educational as well.
It's a chance for humans to see and study animals up close. The majority of the human race doesn't have the time, or the money, or the energy, to travel to Africa and other exotic far away places to see animals in the wild.
This would be very dangerous. Just imagine yourself walking through thick jungle trying to catch a glimplse (a short look) at a lion, or tiger. You would probably get to see it for a few sconds, just before it bit your head off and ate you for dinner.
The zoo in your city is closer, cheaper and safer than going on safari by yourself. By the way, when was the last time you visited a zoo ? What is your favorite animal at the zoo ? If you live in Tokyo, how about going to the Ueno Zoo ! (V.C)
