In 1995, the rugby union became a world recognized professional sport and was sanctioned (supproted by) the governing body of World Rugby.
Japan's first international rugby match was against Canada in 1932.
I grew up in the U.S.A playing American Football straight through to my senior year in high school. This means I played the sport for a solid ten years, in which I sustainded numerous injuries, such as broken ribs, torn ligaments in both knees, a broken wirst and a broken nose 4 times.
I suffered many cuts, scrapes and bruises, plus torn muscles in my leg and houlder.
For the record, I never missed a game. My position was the quarter back most of the time, but sometimes I played half-back as well. On the defensive team, I played safety and was the punt returner.
I played both offense and defense. In other words, I never came out of the game, unless my injuries required immediate medical treatment on the sidelines, to get patched up and then go back into the game. (V.C)
