英会話ブログ その789      ”Move to Canada”

2016/04/07

Some Americans showed interest in, "how can I move to Canada ?" by checking out Google, following the results of the Super Tuesday primary elections on March 1st.

Obviously the possibility of the bigoted billionaire Donald Trump becoming President had mucn to do with 2,000 hits on the link to "Apply to immigrate to Canada" page.

Most of the interest to "immigrate" (officially move) to Canada has come from the state of Massachusetts, when both leading presidential candidates, Donald Trump on the Republican side, and Hillary Clinton on the Democratic side, won their primaries.

Basically, this shows that the people of Massachusetts (and other states, as well) are not happy with these results.  Both candidates are not appealing to them and are looking for a way out of a country in which either Trump, or Hillary will be in the White House.

In English, we have a saying for this kind of situation.  For many aware Americans it's "The frying pan, or the fire!"  Both are bad choices !                                       (V.C)
