English Village Learning blog ;  Prologue (1)

As a professional English teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience in Japan, I am writing this essay on learning English in order to help you speak English better.
Of course, it is aimed at you, the Japanese student who is studying English.

I have taught at Berlitz, the school when my E.S.L teaching career began in Tokyo so many years ago.  Over the years, I have taught in other private schools, high school and at university for a very long time, I have learned what works and doesn't work for the student, and what works and doesn't work for the teacher.  We've got to work together.

Before I came to English Village, I was teaching English at JAXA, the Japanese Space Agency in Tsukuba.  It was a special project and my main task was to teach primarily two very special people.  Both of these astronauts could speak English extremely well.  Both of them are super-intelligent and one of them had been to space twice aboard the Space Shuttle.  She and I worked very closely together for 2 years.
