Tips to help you (10)

In fact, the "th" is pronounced like a "z" sound.  As I mentioned earlier in this blog, sometimes the rules of English seem as if they are written in the sand on a beach.  So, you have to go with the flow on this one.

The word is: "clothes", and it is pronounced the exact same way the verb "close" is pronounced - "cloze" like "close the door" or "close the window".

Many Japanes students make a mistake with this word.  But now you know.  No one has ever told me why this is,  why the word "clothes" is an exception.  However, it is what it is, and please remember.  Also please look forward to more English Village learning blogs by V.C. (V.C)
