Trick or Treat ! (1)

We can easily see that Halloween is coming soon because of all the decorations in the shops.
Images of pumpkins, ghosts, witches and black cats are everywhere, and have been since late August, even though Halloween is October 31st.

The day of Halloween was first called "All Hallow's Eve" and later shortened to "Halloween".

Long time ago, in Ireland, there was a celebration on November 1st called "Hallow'mass" or Holy Day.  Oct.31st is the night before, so it was Hallow Eve (like Christmas Eve is before Christmas day).

People in old times believed that evil spirits and ghosts could come to Earth for one night to enjoy themselves, so to speak.                              (G.K)
