50 years ago: The shooting of JFK (1)

November 22nd marks the 50th anniversary of the shooting of American President John F. Kennedy.
When a politician or well-known person is murdered, it is called an "assassination" and the person who does this is an "assassin".

Four US presidents were killed by assassins, but there have been many other attempts to kill other presidents, including Ronald Reagan.

The JFK assassination is unique in that it is considered one of the biggest mysteries in US history; that is, many people wonder who really did it.

Teddy Kennedy is mainly remembered for the killing and also his extra marital relationship with Marilyn Monroe, but he was also considered a progressive president who started the race to the moon by the US space program, and championed civil rights for minorities.                      (G.K)
