Global English (2)

Even in native-English speaking countries, such as America, England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, the accents, the slang and the idioms vary.

I believe that Japanese learning English in Japan are better off learning English (especially conversation) from a native-English speaker.
This is because as I've mentioned above, most of the non-native English speaking countries speak their own, sometimes broken version of the English language.

The Japanese English student needs a very strong English foundation from which to build upon.
Unfortunately, Japanese are taught grammar and reading from Junior High School usually by Japanese English teachers.

This causes many language problems for the student later on, particulary with pronunciation.
Correct, or as closely correct pronunciaton as possible, is the key for English language conversation communication success.

Native-English speaker teachers, like the ones we have at English Village schools can help the learner to overcome some of their basic pronunciation problems.
As the student builds a stroner English conversation foundation, the student will also build a greater confidence in spealking.

English communication will ensure Japan's economic survival on the global stage.                         (V.C)
