Why do foreigners visit Japan (2)

Furthermore, Geishas, tea houses, and Buddhist temples are far removed from (different than) American culture.  These places and people are very enjoyable to see because of their exoticism (unusual nature of appearance).

Manga and anime are two other big draws (things that make someone want to visit a place).  Japanese cartoons are very popular all over the world and people come here to buy comics, meet their favorite artists and to study the Japanese language so that they can one day read manga in Japanese.

A third reason that is often overlooked by Japanese people when thinking of reasons that tourists come to Japan is Cherry Blossom season.
Many tourists book flights to Japan in April in order to view the blossoming of the cherry blossoms.
There is no flower blooming in the world that is quite as significant or beautiful as the cherry blossom season in Japan.                                  (J.F)
