Baseball Comedy - Who's on First ? (1)

Now that we're fully into baseball season, it might be interesting to take a look at a classic comedy performance that uses baseball as its topic, namely, "Who's on First ?"

The performers were a duo, Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, known as Abbott and Costello, who performed on stage, movies and TV in the 1940s and 1950s.

Unlike today, comedy duos (similar to Japanese Manzai comedy teams) were popular in the US at that time.

Like Manzai teams, there was usually a "straight Man" (The smart one) and a foolish, laugh-getter (the dumb one).

Abbott served as the straight man and Costello as his dim witted but funny partner.                             (G.K)
