Baseball Comedy - Who's on First ? (2)

In the "Who's on First ?" act, Abbott is telling Costello that baseball players these days have odd names or nicknames.  To prove the point, he tells Costello of the current St.Louis team, whose players have odd names indeed...

Costello : Funny names ?
Abbott : Nicknames.  Now on the St.Louis team we have who's on first (1st base), What's on 2nd, I don't know is on 3rd...
Cosello : That's what I want to find out.  I want you to tell me the names of the fellows on the St.Louis team...
Abbott : I'm telling you : Who's on 1st, what's on 2nd, I don't know is on 3rd.
Costello : You know the fellow's names ?
Abbott : Yes.
Costello : Well, then who's playing 1st ?
Abbott : Yes.
Costello : I mean the player's name on 1 st base.
Abbott : Who.
Costello : The guy on 1st base.
Abbott : Who is on 1st base...

Costello : Well, what are you asking me for ?
Abbott : I'm not asking you.  I'm telling you who is on 1st.
Costello : I'm asking you.  Who's on 1st ?
Abbott : That's the man's name !
Costello : That's who's name ?
Abbott : Yes !

The routine continues in this way with the other team members, "what" "I don't know" and so on.  The humor is in the misunderstanding caused by the unusual names of the players.  The full act can be seen on YouTube...                        (G.K)
