Shakuhachi in the Rain

In the midst of the humid summer months of Japan, a sudden downpour cools the air.

Nothing is more relaxing to my ears than the sound of shakuhachi in ther rain.

As I play under the overhang, the rain falls in front of me while the walls to either side and behind amplify the acoustics.

People pass by on the sidewalk and catch a brief glimpse of where the sound is coming...from.  I let the rain guide and calm the melody as it naturally dwindles.

The clouds slowly disperse as the last noiseless drizzle peacefully falls to allow summer to return.

Everything feels renewed !                        (D.H)
