英会話ブログ その506      Karachi (2)

2014/11/01

Back in the day, smoking was permitted on all flights, so after we reached altitude and the "no smoking" sign went out, everybody it seemed lit-up, including me ( I smoked Highlights in those days ) and soon the passengers were engulfed in a cloud of cigarette smoke.

There was also a distinct curry smell permeating the smoky air as well, not a very good aromatic combination, to say the least, but for a cheap ticket to circumnavigate the planet, it was tolerable.

I remembered what one of my Aussie mates had said to me when he had heard I would be doing the world with a stop in Karachi.                                (V.C)
