One of the most popular  (and essential) actions a person can do is to eat.

And when it comes to eating, there are a lot of ways to describe this action.

The more common words, such as "eat", "chew", "bite" and "consume" are well known.

Today we want to focus on the words and phrases about eating that aren't as well known, or are used as slang.

For example, how about "munch" ?  This descriptive word is used to "talk about chewing some food which might be crunchy: " Eyes glazed, he stared at the TV, occasionally munching potato chips..."

Another word, "gobble" is used to talk about eating a large amount of food quickly : " Teresa gobbled the cake in only three bites."                                   (G.K)
