We also say "pig out" to talk about eating a lot, much as a pig is thought to do.

The word "inhale " (usually meaning to breathe in) is also sometimes used this way: " Ted inhaled the bowl of popcorn, then went and got another! "

"Snack" can be used as either noun or verb, as can "nosh".  Both imply eating a small amount of something between main meals...

A person who can eat a lot is a "big eater", who can really "put it away."  Such as the women on TV in Japan who join eating contests!                            (G.K)
