英会話ブログ その545     English Word Observation : Grave (1)

2014/12/12

The first word I have chosen for English Word Observation, (E,W,O), is the word, "grave".

I picked up this word purposely to begin this study with because "grave" is a serious word.  So serious, in fact, that the grave is the very last stop for every human on this train of life.  Can't get any more serious than that !

Think of this.  Isaas Newton, or so the legend goes, was sitting under an apple tree when he noticed an apple falling.  I don't think it hit him on the head, but perhaps one of the greatest ideas in the history of human existence did hit him, "in the head".                              (V.C)
