"B" is for Bears (2)

He had a very interesting, exciting full-life and had become a legend in his own time.

Here, I will mention two things about his life which relate to Japan and this blog.

The first being is that he won the Nobel Peace Prize for ending the Russo-Japanese war.  The second thing is that the "teddy bear" comes from Theodore Roosevelt.

He had been a rancher, an explorer, a hero-soldier and an avid hunter.  He shot and killed a lot of wild bears, brown bears, black bears and grizzy bears and had them stuffed (which he displayed in his house.)

Eventually toy makers picked up on this idea and created cute soft and cuddly "teddy bears" for kids.                                           (V.C)
